Hi Everyone, my name is Mike of course and I'm your friendly moderator. I hold a degree in environmental studies and work in the Gov't/Non-profit sector, focusing mostly on projects that deal with environmental remediation, conservation and affordable housing.

Hey Everyone!

This is the thread where the members of the forum can get to know each other. If you are new to the community, please introduce yourself.

Hi Everyone,

I am Mely, and I am the creator of this forum. I have been in the environmental sustainability field since I was in middle school. Up until about a year ago, I was focusing all of my energy into academia and the corporate/private sector but decided to focus my efforts on building a community of sustainable citizens. I hold an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and a graduate degree in Environmental Science.

Hello and Welcome Everyone!

Iím MelySustainable, the creator of the Sustainable Citizen Project forum. I created this forum for the average citizen interested in participating in the environmental sustainability field. As a Black woman, I have grown frustrated with Black and Brown voices being written out of the environmental sustainability narrative. The hope is to foster a community of people of ALL ages and backgrounds interested in exploring and discussing views, ideas and strategies on how we as citizens can do our part in learning about, protecting, and preserving this beautiful planet we call home.

Please come in, join and get comfortable!
